Overview
Inner Wave Therapy offers a part-time and full-time Psychological Assistant Fellowship designed for both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral candidates registered as Psychological Assistants with the California Board of Psychology. Our program is ideal for clinicians seeking depth-oriented training in private practice with a focus on psychodynamic, existential, humanistic, and intersubjective traditions.
We are a boutique group practice that values warmth, flexibility, and independence. Our goal is to support your development not only as a skilled clinician but also as a reflective practitioner, attuned to both inner life and interpersonal process. Just as we help our clients cultivate authenticity and wholeness, we are committed to fostering your individuation as a therapist.
Who We Serve
Our clients are primarily young to middle-aged adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relational difficulties, identity exploration, and work-life imbalance. Inner Wave Therapy serves a diverse Los Angeles population, with an emphasis on insight, emotional regulation, and growth.
What You'll Do
Conduct intake assessments
Provide individual psychotherapy to adults
Co-lead or facilitate group therapy
Complete limited cognitive and psychological testing
Write clinical reports and case documentation
Participate in weekly individual and group supervision
Attend didactic seminars and case conferences
Program Details
Location: Inner Wave Therapy is located in La Crescenta, just north of Glendale. Telehealth work is available.
Time Commitment: 20 hours per week, 12-month commitment
Tracks Offered: Clinical, Assessment, or Combined
Compensation: Competitive per-session pay. Full details shared during interviews.

Our supervision model meets California licensure requirements and emphasizes collaboration, reflection, and growth. In addition to clinical training, fellows are introduced to essential business and professional development practices for launching and maintaining a successful private practice.
