Meet the Team

Alique Bedikian, Psy.D.

PSY 31843

Clinical Psychologist & Supervisor

I’m Dr. Alique Bedikian, a licensed clinical psychologist. I primarily work with men who want clarity, steadiness, and real change. My approach is grounded, practical, and collaborative. We focus on understanding what’s driving your patterns, strengthening emotional regulation, and helping you respond to life with more control and confidence.

My clinical training includes work in diverse settings such as Kaiser Permanente, Aurora Behavioral Health, Coastline Community College, the YWCA, and Family Recovery Center, where I developed extensive experience in trauma treatment, psychological assessment, and group therapy. This background allows me to work effectively with both complex emotional histories and high-functioning professionals.

At Inner Wave Therapy, I serve as both a therapist and Clinical Supervisor. I tailor treatment to each client, but I’m consistent in my stance: therapy should be direct, respectful, and appropriately challenging. We don’t rush insight, but we don’t avoid it either. Men often tell me they appreciate having a space where they can speak plainly, be taken seriously, and not feel judged or managed.

My research has explored intergenerational trauma and empathy within Armenian-American communities, and this lens informs how I help men understand inherited pressures, family roles, and unspoken expectations.

In addition to clinical work, I remain actively involved in the field through teaching, research, and leadership. I’ve co-authored published research on the psychological impact of COVID-19, serve on committees with the Los Angeles County Psychological Association, and have taught as an adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Therapy, at its best, is not about becoming someone else—it’s about becoming more solid in who you already are. If you’re looking for a psychologist who is steady, engaged, and straightforward, I would be honored to work with you.

  • ADHD- Informed Care

(AMFT144622)

Ploy Tantana
is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Inner Wave Therapy, supervised by Dr. Alique Bedikian (PSY31843). She helps clients gently explore how past experiences, relationships, and cultural identity shape who they are today—supporting them in gaining insight, feeling more connected to themselves, and creating meaningful, lasting change.

Ploy completed her undergraduate studies in Social Science with a minor in Psychology at Mahidol University International College in Bangkok, Thailand. She went on to earn her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University, where she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the same field.

Her doctoral research focuses on emotional learning and emotional awareness within the context of family culture and dynamics among Southeast Asian American communities.

Ploy’s approach to therapy is warm, intentional, and grounded in deep curiosity about the inner lives of her clients. Rooted in psychodynamic theory, her work focuses on helping individuals explore how early relationships, family dynamics, and unconscious patterns shape present-day experiences. Through this insight-oriented process, she supports clients in making the unconscious conscious, deepening self-understanding, expanding emotional awareness, and creating space for meaningful change.

As a multicultural, bilingual therapist fluent in Thai and English, Ploy brings a unique cultural sensitivity and perspective to her work. She is deeply committed to practicing through a lens of trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and social justice. She offers a welcoming space that is queer-affirming, kink-affirming, and culturally responsive; meeting clients where they are with compassion and respect.

Her practice is shaped by the belief that healing looks different for everyone, and she tailors her work to honor each client’s story, strengths, and identity. She believes that meaningful change begins with understanding, not judgment, and that true healing happens when we bring the unconscious into conscious awareness with compassion and clarity.

Sapir Mizrahi, Psy.D.

Psychological Associate (PSB94029312 )

Dr. Sapir Mizrahi is a Psychological Associate at Inner Wave Therapy, supervised by Dr. Alique Bedikian (PSY31843). She works with adults who are thoughtful, self-aware, and often high-functioning on the outside—yet feel internally stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their sense of meaning. Sapir helps clients explore how early experiences, relationships, and identity shape present-day emotional patterns, so they can move forward with greater clarity and intention.

Sapir earned both her M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Downtown Los Angeles. Her doctoral research examined the relationship between disordered eating, distress tolerance, and self-compassion, reflecting a broader interest in how people cope with pressure, self-criticism, and emotional pain. With a minor in Health Psychology and clinical experience working with concerns related to food and body image, she brings depth, nuance, and care to complex internal struggles.

Sapir understands that many clients at Inner Wave are not new to introspection—they are often creative, driven, and sensitive to their inner world, yet unsure how to translate insight into real change. Her therapeutic style is warm, reflective, and collaborative, grounded in psychodynamic therapy and informed by an integrative approach. She creates a calm, judgment-free space where clients can slow down, notice recurring emotional patterns, and develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves.
