Meet the Team

Alique Bedikian, Psy.D.

PSY 31843

Clinical Psychologist & Clinical Supervisor at Inner Wave Therapy

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, trauma, or identity struggles, you don’t have to go through it alone. I’m Dr. Alique Bedikian, a licensed clinical psychologist, and I’m here to walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges. My goal is to help you find clarity, healing, and resilience—even during the most difficult transitions.

I bring both clinical expertise and genuine care to my work. Over the years, I’ve trained in a variety of settings—including Kaiser Permanente, Aurora Behavioral Health, Coastline Community College, YWCA, and Family Recovery Center—where I gained extensive experience in trauma treatment, assessment, and group therapy.

At Inner Wave Therapy, I serve as both a therapist and Clinical Supervisor. I always tailor treatment to fit each client’s unique needs. I enjoy helping clients understand the deeper, hard to reach feelings that are controlling their behaviors and believe therapy should be collaborative, warm, and a bit challenging. I am especially passionate about supporting individuals from multicultural backgrounds, and my research has explored intergenerational trauma, identity, and empathy in Armenian-American communities.

Outside of the therapy room, I stay engaged in the field through teaching and research. I’ve co-authored published work on the psychological impact of COVID-19, and I serve on committees with the Los Angeles County Psychological Association. I also taught as an adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, helping train the next generation of therapists.

Most importantly, I believe therapy is a place where you can let go of shame, be understood and empowered to grow. I would be honored to support you on your journey.

(AMFT144622)

Ploy Tantana
is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Inner Wave Therapy, supervised by Dr. Alique Bedikian (PSY31843). Ploy completed her undergraduate studies in Social Science with a minor in Psychology at Mahidol University International College in Bangkok, Thailand. She went on to earn her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University, where she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the same field.

Her doctoral research focuses on emotional learning and emotional awareness within the context of family culture and dynamics among Southeast Asian American communities.

Ploy’s approach to therapy is warm, intentional, and grounded in deep curiosity about the inner lives of her clients. Rooted in psychodynamic theory, her work focuses on helping individuals explore how early relationships, family dynamics, and unconscious patterns shape present-day experiences. Through this insight-oriented process, she supports clients in making the unconscious conscious, deepening self-understanding, expanding emotional awareness, and creating space for meaningful change.

She is deeply committed to practicing through a lens of trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and social justice. She offers a welcoming space that is queer-affirming, kink-affirming, and culturally responsive; meeting clients where they are with compassion and respect.

Her practice is shaped by the belief that healing looks different for everyone, and she tailors her work to honor each client’s story, strengths, and identity.
